MU Chemistry 210 WS97
Interactive Exercise Nr. 2
-
The Journal of Chemical Education just published an article in its
March issue (J. Chem. Educ. 1997, 74, 329) on
"Discovery-Based Stereochemistry Tutorials in the WWW".
Check out their site on Organic
Chemistry Supplemental Materials on stereochemistry.
There is an entire
Lecture
on Stereochemistry
available as a powerpoint presentation.
The slides load kind of slowly and you should do this review in the
evening or on a weekend.
A University of Melbourne, Australia, site offers a nice brief
introduction to the Cahn-Ingold-Prelog
Rules.
This site at SSU points up the relation between Stereochemistry
and Our Senses. Worthwhile a quick look.
Check out this well-done online
Exercise
in Stereochemistry. Do these in a group. And do them all.
Conformational and configurational isomers as well as stereoisomers are
reviewed in an easy to follow fashion at Brenda's
Stereochemistry site.
Let me know if you find some other sites that might be good
to share with the class. Enjoy. I hope you are having as much fun as I
was having browsing these sites.
