Sapporo, the largest city in Hokkaido. A brief overview of the short (125 years) history of Sapporo in English is available on the web. Sapporo is famous for its beer and an excellent History of the Sapporo Beer Company is available in English on the web.
The Sapporo Journal provides some good insights into goings-on about Sapporo City.

I think it was this evening that we went up on Mt. Moiwa. Mt. Moiwa is the "Hausberg" of Sapporo. One has a wonderful view of the City of Sapporo from up there. We went up by sunset and had dinner in the restaurant. Very enjoyable.
The DAYSCAN LIFECam allows you to enjoy the view from Mt. Moiwa and several other places in Sapporo from home. Try it out. Remember that Japan is 14 hours ahead of American Central time.

Lunchtime visit of the Sky Garden of The Landmark Tower with Samantha Gao-Sheridan. The Yokohama Landmark Tower is part of futuristic Minato Mirai 21 (South Peer 21). The 296 m Landmark Tower is the tallest building in Japan.
